Playlist: Insomnia

It is 3 in the morning and I am still awake. Insomnia is not a regular thing for me, but when my mind is busy, busy, busy, (Do you know what is keeping me up tonight?) there’s no way I’m falling asleep.

One thing that helps though is to have an insomnia playlist. I will be sharing it with you guys after the jump.

Looking at this playlist, you can probably tell a lot about my taste in music. I do have mainstream songs in there because every once in a while, someone in mainstream media actually produces work that is still worth listening to 6 months after it is initially released. (<– Don’t mind her. She is just an angry, classically-trained musician talking.)

These songs are not, strictly speaking, “slow” songs, although they are pretty mellow, especially for some of the bands that usually get their rock on. This playlist sometimes doubles as my “Upset” playlist. Knowing my obsession with playlists, though, I actually have a separate playlist for that. :)

Now, because I know none of you download your music illegally, and because music isn’t exactly cheap, here is the lean, just-the-must-haves, Insomnia playlist for under $10.

The Insomnia Playlist (Econo Mix) – Runs 30 minutes

Song Title – Artist : Album (Song order c/o sm1tt3nk1tt3n)

  1. Falling Into You – Mae : (a)fternoon
  2. Pollen and Salt – Daphne Loves Derby : On the Strength of All Convinced
  3. Hold Nothing Back – Copeland : In Motion
  4. Catch the Wind – The Spill Canvas : Denial Feels So Good
  5. Cue the Sun – Daphne Loves Derby : Good Night, Witness Light
  6. Motorcycle Drive By – Third Eye Blind : A Collection
  7. Better Days – The Goo Goo Dolls : Greatest Hits
  8. Lullaby – The Spill Canvas : No Really, I’m Fine

The econo mix is just as good, except that if you are a person who values variety, you might get sick of it quickly. But hey, this playlist is so awesome, you’ll fall asleep halfway through it.

K. Bed time. Zzz.
